ANHELL69
Sunday, June 2 | 8:30 PM | Dave Barber Cinematheque | 14A
Anhell69 is a profound, genre-defying, and self-defined trans film from Colombian director Theo Montoya. It first screened in Winnipeg as part of the 2023 Gimme Some Truth Festival, where it was programmed by the late Jaimz Asmundson. Jaimz was a gifted musician and filmmaker, a pillar of the Winnipeg arts community, and a talented and idiosyncratic film programmer. His work at the Dave Barber Cinematheque and Winnipeg Film Group, through initiatives like Cream of the Crap, Secret Cinema, Bands vs. Filmmakers and more, as well as his work with the WNDX Festival of Moving Image and Gimme Some Truth, made him an important and lasting influence on the WUFF collective.
Heartbroken by his passing and in continual reflection on what it means to program films, WUFF is honoured to close our 11th festival edition with this selection by Jaimz.
